Steve Rogers (Captain America) X Reader Chapter 2

(Name) and Steve spent a few glorious minutes on the topic of their favorite superheroes. His heart gave a small flutter when she confessed that hers was Captain America. Smiling, she lazily ruffled her hair and looked up into his shimmering blue orbs. The singers should be up soon, do you want any popcorn? I am thinking about getting some.” Steve said popping trough the looming bubble known as awkward silences. He hopped off the truck with incredible ease and watched as the girl gave him a nod of approval. That was all he needed before bounding off like a puppy, eager to please his master or in this case a girl.
During the wait he couldn’t help but to look back from time to time to make sure she was okay. Maybe it was the hero in him or the fact that he had lost so many friends and loved ones, but in a crowd like this he worried for her. Lost in thought the blonde hadn’t noticed that the line had moved up and it was his turn. Flustered, due to the fact that (Name) had noticed his little moment of daze, he got their popcorn and quickly headed back to her. “S-sorry im late…long line.” He muttered before shoving a handful of popcorn into his mouth awkwardly.

A few hours had passed and so far they were having a great time. He hadn’t even flubbed up once. Steve had won some prizes at the games and wasted no time giving them to (Name). It was another hour or two till sun down and (Name) had an idea. “ Wan’t to take a swim in the lake?” she proposed as she placed a stuffed panda into the back of his truck for safe keeping. “ I would love too! …but I don’t have my swim trunks with me.” He felt a bit bad, like he was holding her back. Obviously she didn’t see it this way though. “ That’s okay you can swim in your boxers. Luckily I remembered my bikini on under my clothes.” With that (Name) grinned and took off running to the lake. “ catch me if you can!!” Steve wasted no time accepting this invitation as he bounded after her. The two roared with glee and laughter as she dashed trough the tall grass, whipping at their legs.
In the end though Steve won, eagerly he celebrated by effortlessly tossing her into the water as if she was a pebble. Lucky for him it appeared (Name) had not noticed this burst of sudden strength and instead took to grabbing his ankles and yanking him in, clothes and all. The two thoroughly enjoyed the short hours teasing and playing with each other. At the first crackle of the fire works though the pair reluctantly pulled themselves up onto the old rustic dock. “ I’ll be right back!” Steve yelled hopping up and running of into the dark. (Name) was not kept waiting for long though because he was soon back. Carrying a blanket and two mugs he sat down next to her. With a gentle touch he wrapped the soft, fluffy blanket over her shoulders, before securing the cup in her hand. “ Thank you.” She said sweetly before taking a sip of (favorite drink).  
The night waltzed on and the two enjoyed each others company even more. Finally the time came though when they had to depart. Very reluctantly Steve worked up the courage to give her his cell phone number. Not only was this a risk to his secret identity but a risk to whatever confidence he had left. To his shock she gladly took the number and gave him hers. At least his confidence was safe for now. There was always the chance he could be exposed though. Or worse this dream girl could be a spy. He was probably just paranoid though. All of these thoughts raced trough his mind as he watched her leave him behind.
